Verza Solar Electric

The Vergara Family has owned and operated Verza Solar in sunny San Diego, CA for 11 years. Verza prides itself on honesty and quality work with no sales gimmicks. They came to me in search of a refreshing change of style starting with their logo along with a few items to begin posting online.

Goal

My client was looking for a new style of logo to set them in the right direction when updating online presence. Verza Solar requested to have a patriotic color scheme and that a symbol stays as part of the new logo. My goal was to create an abstract version of the old logo that brings more sophistication that pays homage to the technology involved in their daily operations.

The old logo felt scattered and font didn't have much hierarchy between the company name and subtitle, which made it hard for the viewer to see the title immediately. The textures also didn't allow the company name stand our from the symbol, and most likely would not show up well when scaling down to the size of a buisness card.

I sent my clients some options for the color scheme. They suggested to add yellow to the sun, but I recommended against it since the primary colors encouraged a more youthful perception versus the main goal of a patriotic theme.
